They’re the Missouri S&T freshman class of 2009, one of the biggest and brightest in our 139-year history. This year’s crop of first-years includes five students who have perfect ACT or SAT scores. The class average ACT score is 27.7, among the upper 10 percent in the nation and a tick above the previous year’s average. The average high school grade point average is 3.78, and more than two-thirds of the new students have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. This year’s freshman class, the third-largest in S&T’s history, also includes 268 women, an increase of 30 over last year.
