In October 2013, Missouri S&T became a charter member of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI), an organization that promotes research and innovation among research universities.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts the need for industrial-organizational psychologists could grow by as much as 53 percent by 2018. To help meet that need, Missouri S&T is now offering a master of science degree in industrial-organizational psychology.

The Miner Alumni Association and the Central Ozarks Section hosted their 106th Best Ever St. Pat’s celebration on March 15 in Rolla. In October, 14 alumni and friends were inducted into Missouri S&T academies. Academy membership recognizes a career of distinction and invites members to share their wisdom, influence and resources with faculty and students. Induction ceremonies are held in April and October.

Three S&T faculty members were honored for their scholarship and teaching excellence during commencement ceremonies in December. V.A. Samaranayake was named Curators’ Teaching Professor of mathematics and statistics; David Riggins was named Curators’ Teaching Professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering; and Martin Bohner was named Curators’ Professor of mathematics and statistics.
