New bio sci chair began Aug. 1

David Duvernell, former chair and professor of biological sciences at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, began his term as chair of biological sciences at Missouri S&T on Aug. 1. Associate professor David J. Westenberg and professor Yue-wern Huang each served a term as interim chair following the 2015 departure of Robert Aronstam.

Celebrating silver, aiming for gold

In July, the Solar Car Design Team commemorated 25 years of racing with an eighth-place finish in the Formula Sun Grand Prix, held on the Circuit of the Americas Formula 1 track in Austin, Texas. Team members say this race sets them up for an even more successful season next year, when the team returns to the cross-country American Solar Challenge race. Curators approve master plan updates
